The ambitious, driven go-getter has long been a glamorized symbol of burgeoning success.
And be honest, at some point you’ve admired this die-hard win at all cost striver, who’s willing to take enormous risks rather than live in obscurity.
But is this kill or be killed approach realistic?
Possibly for some.
Yet for many of us, the cost of success is not worth becoming a cutthroat narcissist.
We might even struggle for what seems like an eternity to find our truth. And even then, there’s no guarantee of success.
The belief that we are independent and self-sufficient is deeply ingrained. And we hold tight to these notions, while desperately locked in a morass of conflicting motivations.
Success does not occur in a vacuum. All achievement results from relationships grounded by common goals and social skills.
Achievement is relational, despite who fronts the brand. Therefore, connections are imperative for taking your program from a vivid daydream to a collective achievement.
While you may have the ambition and desire to realize your goals, it’s only when you combine these traits with positive, like-minded people that your plans are actualized, moving you away from self-centeredness and immaturity.
There is nothing more rewarding than working with others, building a viable coalition and leaving a legacy of inspired achievement.
But collective effort does not absolve you from personal responsibility. Your success with others starts with you.
